WWII Holocaust sites Tours

The first of the Holocaust sites was Dachau Concentration Camp located just a few miles northwest of Munich Germany.  It was established in 1933 by Heinrich Himmler the head of the Nazi SS.  The original purpose for the Camp was to hold political dissidents and anyone who opposed Hitler’s regime and a forced labor camp.  It eventually became a place to hold Jews, Gypsies, Priests of all faiths, including German and Austrian citizens.
